ZenPing

elasticsearch-7.0.0/server/src/main/java/org/elasticsearch/discovery/zen/ZenPing.java

public interface ZenPing extends Releasable {

    void start();

    void ping(Consumer<PingCollection> resultsConsumer, TimeValue timeout);

    class PingResponse implements Writeable {

    }

    class PingCollection {

    }
}
  • The ZenPing interface inherits the Releasable interface and also defines the start and ping methods; in addition, it defines the PingResponse and PingCollection classes

  • PingResponse implements the Writeable interface, and its writeTo method writes clusterName, node, master, clusterStateVersion, id in turn

  • UnicastZenPing implements the ZenPing interface, which creates the unicastZenPingExecutorService thread pool while maintaining a queue for PingResponse and activePingingRounds
  • The ping method mainly asynchronously and dispatches the execution of pingSender, while its doRun method executes the sendPings method; the sendPings method builds the UnicastPingRequest, and the sendPingRequestToNode method executes the seedAddresses in the pingingRound one by one
  • sendPingRequestToNode submits AbstractRunnable to the thread pool by mainly sending pingRequest using transportService.sendRequest ToNode

  • The getPingResponseHandler method creates an anonymous TransportResponseHandler for handling UnicastPingResponse; its handleResponse method executes the pingingRound.addPingResponseToCollection method

Summary

  • The ZenPing interface inherits the Releasable interface and also defines the start and ping methods; in addition, it defines the PingResponse and PingCollection classes
  • UnicastZenPing implements the ZenPing interface, which creates the unicastZenPingExecutorService thread pool while maintaining a queue for PingResponse and activePingingRounds
  • The ping method mainly performs pingSender asynchronously and dispatched, while its doRun method executes sendPings method; the sendPings method builds UnicastPingRequest, and sendPingRequestToNode method executes sendPingRequestToNode method one by one for seedAddresses in pingingRound; the sendPingRequestToNode submits AbstractRunnable to the thread pool, and its doRun method mainly uses transportService.sendRequest to send pingRequest
